Good Karma Vegan Cafe - San Jose, California

Island food, hippie jam sesh, all vegan

When I first walked into Good Karma the first thing I thought was that it reminded me of The Yabba Pot Cafe in Baltimore, Maryland. The staff was very friendly, very punk, and it was a total hippie sesh. This pleased me greatly. A large plate of food with rice costs about $5. Five dollars! I opted to get a plate with two items for $7. I chose pra-ram and Jamaican jerk tofu, and my meal was excellent. I left very full and very delighted for just $7. I must also add that everything on the menu can be turned into a burrito, which will probably excite many readers. And they have sweet desserts.

They’re open until 9 pm six days a week, and 7 pm on Sunday. Very easily accessible from the VTA light rail and bus. If I go again I will get high as a pie beforehand. Can’t recommend this place enough.
